At Hope Meadows we believe in a holistic approach to treatment combining horses, life skills and the natural environment to aid in the healing process.

Hope Meadows serves the community to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to children, adolescents, adults, groups, couples, and families. In working as a specialized treatment team of a Mental Health Specialist, Equine Specialist and Horse(s), we can create a healing environment for those being treated for behavior disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, addiction, trauma, PTSD, and depression to name a few.

The team at Hope Meadows Foundation also provides Equine-assisted learning (EAL)- an experiential learning approach that promotes the development of life skills for educational, professional and personal goals through equine-assisted activities in a group or individual setting.

Our team of Equine Specialists have experience and certifications in the EAGALA model of EAP and Natural Lifemanship model of Trauma-Informed EAP.  Our team of Equine Specialist partner with local Mental Health Specialists to provide this unique and effective treatment.

WHY HORSES?

Horses provide vast opportunities for metaphorical learning, an effective technique when working with even the most challenging individuals or groups.

Both during the activity and after, the treatment team can observe and interact with the client in order to identify behavior patterns and process thoughts and emotions.

EAP provides an experiential means in which the client can identify and address a range of emotional and behavioral challenges and learn healthy and appropriate skills to address these challenges.
